The Novatel MC930D I bought stopped working after I upgraded to Snow Leopard due to driver incompatabilities. Little did I know that Snow Leopard has native support for the modem. Here's how to get it working. 1. Install the driver package from NovatelWireless. You need this package for their modem scripts if I'm not wrong. 2. Reboot after installation. 3. Follow the guide here and remove both kexts. 4. Reboot again. 5. Connect the modem. 6. Wait for it to mount the built in USB partition that contains the windows driver. 7. Unmount that drive and wait a while. 8. Network preferences should detect the modem. 9. Fill in your login details and you're good to go. Good thing about this native support is that you get a signal bar in your menubar that actually does reflect the signal strength of the 3G connection.
